Has anyone actually got one of these things fitted I've always assumed they are an if you have to ask you cant afford them kind of deal and all the companies that seem to fit them either use renders or the same image, was wondering what the cost of one of these kind of things was. I don't think ill ever own a home that could accommodate one, but just like window shopping for cars I cant afford I think everyone likes looking at dream garage bits.

Exactly that! His ambition knows no bounds…..

A chap locally has a driveway lift in which he stores his Lambo Countach (I think, a decade since I last saw it) with the reg N1 GEL. I can’t remember his name tho’.

Why would you want to keep a car in a damp hole in the ground? I can't help but think of that guy who built a subterranean mancave on Grand Designs and ended up cutting lumps off his hoist because the hole was too small for it to fit. hehe

With enough money, you can have whatever you like. Whether it's a good idea or not remains to be seen.

I've seen one on a very high end house in Finchley I was surveying many years ago. That one was robust enough that you could have a car on top and internally.

Had a specialist lift consultant look at it and it was basically condemned, and that was a super high end version. They're pretty bespoke given they aren't all that common here and apparently it complied with basically no UK regs, insurers didn't wanna know and the safety systems required (including fire protection systems) were ridiculous. Using it was wholly at the owners risk due to the potential issues, risks to property / life. Scary things.
