We’re getting a new fridge freezer and the location Mrs Bert wants it in will obscure a triple light switch that we use quite often. Short of getting a spark in to shift the actual switch, are there any technological solutions? I’ve seen Hue type things that fit in the back of switches, does anyone use these? Do they fit/work in triple switches, is there another solution I’m missing? Ta!

Kinetic switches are superb. The switch can be fitted anywhere, there’s no mains connection so it’s even safe in wet areas.

How about kinetic switches. They are powered by the pressing the switch, so no power needed...

I've not used them myself I was just impressed with the idea when another PH member recommended them.

I've used multiples of switches similar these round the house when wanting to move switches. Our house has a switched live and no neutral in the switch so the box goes into the ceiling cavity near the light fitting and as said before the switch litraly sticks anywhere you want. Its possible to have multiple switches working one light or multiple lights worked by one switch. All have lasted in excess of eight years and no issues.

Do these have millions of channels?

Anyone had any conflicts?

Ie, if you fill a house with them could they start tripping over themselves?

They look pretty cool if your lighting circuits can just be a loop around the ceilings and not all the drops into rooms.

I wonder if they could make dimmer ones by making it an infinite turning dial but basically operates on rotation to power it.

We have half a dozen Quinetic switches from TLC around the house and there are no conflicts between the switches and the lights they control.

They do a dimmer unit: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/QUR301.html

We have a similar unit controlling some LED light strips beneath a rooflight, and it’s controlled by just holding the switch down until it cycles to the light level you want.

I hadn’t thought about Kinetic switches, we use one of those for the lights in the greenhouse, great idea, thanks everyone.
