We have LED two ceiling light fittings in our bedroom. The closest image i could find ias as follows;

If you remove the cover there are 5 G9 LED lightbulbs and about 20 smaller blue bulbs. The light are remote controlled and you can have either

1. Just white light shoiwng
2. Just blue lights showing
2. Both white and blue showing.

One of the lights works fine. the other one has stopped working completely. the fact that one is working fine suggests that the power supply is fine. The fact that ALL the bulbs on the other one stopped working at the same time suggests that it's not fused bulbs.

Is this likely to be something like a failed transformer?

Could be all sorts, failed driver, loose wire, popped internal fuse. It might be fine and just wasn't wired in properly & has finally come adrift.

You'll have to get it down and see how it's put together, or just to spot if something isn't connected anymore.

Chhers. A couple of questions;

1. What's a failed driver?
2. Do all these have an internal fuse? where is it? is it the same as a standard fuse which goes in a plug?

The driver is the small power supply that will be tucked in the light fitting, ive not seen many lights with internal fuses personally but as suggested it needs to be taken down to have a basic look.

Thanks

Is the driver also called a transformer or have I just imagined that?

Transformer is similar but LEDs normally have electronics called a driver to do a similar job (constant voltage output, maybe constant current).

Lots of ways these things are built, could be a standard driver module, could be a weird lashup, hard to know before you look.
