With washing machine powders etc, does anyone know what exactly are these invisible bright blue small fibre strands that get all over stuff after being washed? (Only visible with UV torch) But might explain why some people like myself get skin irritation from this stuff because these fibres attach to the skin and get itchy .I wonder what the point of these annoying fibres are

It is enzymes which are meant to help with stain removal. If you think this is the source of your irritation then try non-bio products.

Washing powder is evil stuff for blocking your drains.

Not entirely sure what was used this time in washing attempt, just liquid stuff I thought . tomorrow I will investigate further, particularly annoying because had skin issues under control at last and all flared up again now

These are 'optical brighteners' which basically fluoresce under UV light.
Added to washing powder to make your white shirt dazzle and all that.

And then switch back again.

Liquids accumulate in machines and then release, causing grey cloudy staining. Powders don't do this.
