External Light power/switched live
Discussion
I have an old external light at the rear of my house.
I have a light switch in my kitchen that turns it on
I have a PIR at the front of the house that also turns it on.
I am looking to replace the old external light and assuming the PIR still works, this is easy (like for like). If the PIR doesn't work, I can replace that too. Also easy (like for like).
However, can I replace the PIR on the front of the house with a new external light (to have two lights instead of one)? The PIR presumably has a permanent live to it, doesn't it? If I buy a new light for the front with an integrated PIR, then this will work and I can replace the rear light with a light that just won't be activated by the existing PIR at the front (if I wire it correctly).
I have brain fog when it comes to switched live logic
