My local B&Q has a pallet full of offcuts. You might get lucky, and find what you need there.

'There' means your local B&Q, not mine. smile

Many years back when I needed some cheap kitchen worktop for my shed. I went to B&Q and asked if they had any damaged worktops. Managed to get a worktop for 1/2 price with a 4 inch lump of damage on one end.

Worth checking Facebook marketplace and eBay.

Otherwise, it may be.a case of buying a full length and selling the piece you don’t need to help balance the costs. I would imagine longer sections would be disproportionately more valuable too.

Thanks.

Just looked and you can buy it by the metre on eBay. Which is nice. Will check if there are any off-cuts back at B&Q tomorrow first though.

Another reason for not wanting a full length is having to strap the the thing to my roofrack.
Take a saw with you then you can cut it to fit.

Local timber merchant is worth a try.
