I'm about to tile a kitchen splashback, however I've had to hack a bump of bodged repair out of the old plaster, about 10 inches square, which will need a a fresh coat in finishing plaster.

How long do I have to leave it before tiling with 4 inch by 8 inch tiles?

If it’s just finishing plaster, leave it till it goes a light pinky colour, so a day or so and for a belt and braces job, give it a coat of BAL prime APD before tiling…but for an area you describe, can’t you you just use an extra dollop of tile adhesive?

How deep? Backfill with bonding. Needs to go salmon pink. However not really convinced you need to repair the plaster - if it’s not deep - will just make your tiling slightly easier.

It's done now, deepest was about 5mm, too deep to just tile over.

I'll probably leave the tiling until next weekend when I'll have time to make sure I don't rush it.
