LawnMaster lawnmower - any good? Or other recommendations…

I want an electric corded lawnmower to replace a petrol one and wondered if the LawnMaster’s are any good? Or any other recommendations please

thanks for reply. I might look at something else like Bosch or Flymo then unless anyone has any recommendations?

I know but i'm too tight to buy a cordless and the cheap cordless ones are st

You're probably not too far away time-wise from Aldi getting their Ferrex branded ones in.

I've had two. The first I pretty much killed the motor mowing some long grass I really should have hit with a strimmer first, so not the mower's fault at all.
I'd used for six years of weekly use through the summer.

I did consider cordless when replacing it and looked at the Dewalt ones as I already have batteries for power tools. However, even a bare mower was something like £300 to £400, so I replaced it with another Aldi one (this was in 2022) for £99. I'm tight enough to put up with extension leads and £200 in my wallet.

IIRC, the first one was a rebadged Cobra so spares were easy to get hold of.

Look at Einhell, I've got a couple of them and they were cheap enough to be disposable after a couple of seasons but despite being abused they are fine. Ebay often do 20% off Einhell stuff if you're patient. I paid £180 for each including 2 batteries for each.

I use a corded lawnmower and have owned both Flymo and Bosch.

My Flymo was the easistore model which was great for putting away but I was never happy with the cut.

I went back to Bosch and my current is the Bosch Rotak which I'm very happy with.

I bought a Lawnmaster 1800w 36cm Hover Mower a couple of years ago and have no complaints. My lawn is reasonably small and a little bumpy hence going for a hover. I don't expect it to last for years and years as it's not the most sturdy of things although that makes it easy to manoeuvre. The only downside is that the handle doesn't fold in half and flat like my previous Flymo did so I have to remove the handle to store the mower in a storage box. Not an issue if you use a shed or garage.

Had a Bosch for 24 years (assume it is a Rotak), it now only gets used for our front lawn (around 20m sq) and other than having to replace the trigger handle a few years ago, it's been totally reliable. We have large back plot which we cut with a ride-on - and when we first moved in, we used this tiny Bosch to cut it a few times which took hours, but it didn't miss a beat!

I'm sure battery is the way to go if you don't want trailing leads, but for us we plug it in, cut and put it away, no faffing with charging and finite life batteries which need replacing.
