Electric lawn edger vs strimmer

I see Ryobi do a specific lawn edger.

But they also do a number of more general purpose strimmers.

As much as I like my tools(this is ph after all) I would prefer just the one, but the main job is edging. So does anyone have any of these strimmers and do they work well on the lawn edge with the head rotated?
