Any help much appreciated.

I'm at an impass with local authority building instructor and their checking engineer/s. I've made it clear I wish to make a complaint, this involves 2 building inspectors and theirel engineering team. They seem quite bold in telling me making a complaint won't go anywhere as one of the officers in my complaint has since been prompted, is top dog at that authority and deals with complaints.

Who am I able to go to for an impartial set of eyes to see the failings of the authority?

You can complain about a building control authority or a surveyor directly to the Building Safety regulator which will then flag them for an investigation.

The BSR are the sole regulatory body for high risk buildings and then also oversee local authorities and RBCA’s working on all other building types.

I was in a meeting with them 2-days ago and they reported receiving 250 concerns last year of which 120 were investigated further and for which sanctions were issued so you have some chance of success.
