Bedroom Air Vent

After some help/ advise - redoing our bedroom and we have this air vent in our bedroom. Ideally want to block this up so it’s no longer visible on the wall but also don’t want to cause damp/ condensation. We’re looking at panelling the whole wall. I have seen the plastic vents you can put up instead but would also prefer not to use those. Has anyone had/ done anything similar.
