Has my tree died?!
Discussion
Didn't we have a few frosty nights in the middle of April after it had been warm for a week? I think that's what happened near me.
I have a couple of oaks that are just about starting to bud. Still time yet I reckon.
Edit: one beech isn't out yet either, most of the rest are just starting.

Strange year for trees ... As my Farmer neighbour tells me :-
"Ash before Oak we're due for a Soak"
"Oak before Ash we're in for a Splash"
All the Oaks are in leaf , but my Ash tree has a sign of a leaf
. ... Guess it's going to be Dry
Do you by any chance live in Wales? (they both sound like wet options)"Ash before Oak we're due for a Soak"
"Oak before Ash we're in for a Splash"

I've never heard that one, I can never remember all these helpful rhymes though. I think they're harder than remembering the thing they're supposed to help with.
Don’t really have anything useful to say OP but I’d be amazed if a tree that looks like it is in its prime has just died unless there’s been extraneous factors. Hopefullly it is just having a lie in.
We did have a fir tree die on a us a few years ago but we’d had a spell of very dry and hot weather…I was absolutely gutted.
