Makita lawnmowers
Discussion
I have a DLM382 as well & even with 2x 18v batteries there doesn't seem to be a massive amount of torque produced as even on only moderately long grass the blade speed really drops when it hits a longer patch & I very much doubt it would do the first cut of the season at anything other than maximum height. I'd be a bit wary if you are used to the power of a petrol mower.
Owners seem to like Ego mowers with their beefier batteries but they are pricey.

Just got one a couple of weeks ago: Makita LM002JM101 530mm 64v Brushless Lawn Mower with 4.0Ah.
I think this is now an obsolete battery form despite being only 3 years old, but it's a cracking bit of kit.
I originally went cheap with a £150 Screwfix Titan mower which was utter rubbish and went back.
Despite being a now defunct model with spare batteries like hens teeth, I decided to go for the Makita as a known quality brand and at £269 considered it a steal, so worth the risk on the battery front.
This replaced a mains Bosch mower, I used it front and back today for the first time, the performance was I believe better than the Bosch mower (and let's not talk about the Titan
)
Our lawns aren't huge, but after cutting both I'm still showing 4 bars on the battery and the time taken with a battery mower is significantly reduced.
I would say go for it, but up to you on the cost/battery risk front if you went for the one I did.

I've also just bought the same big Makita (LM002) - very impressed, quite a big garden and the grass was quite long for the first cut, but not problem with cutting it did the whole lawn on one battery (4AH) - not sure of the size, but it was enough grass to completely fill a wheelie bin, with. But of packing down needed, I would definitely recommend it.I think this is now an obsolete battery form despite being only 3 years old, but it's a cracking bit of kit.
