I have sanded my softwood decking down to bare wood. It looks like new now. What are people's recommendations on osmo. Is it any good? Also I'm unsure on clear or teak. Probably a satin finish.
What happens in a year or two when it needs re doing can I just reapply. Taken me an an entire day to sand this so don't want to be doing it again!
I've previously used yacht varnish which looked great for about a year or two but then peeled and blistered.

It's great. I have a house made of wood (from Scandinavia), and they mostly treat their houses in Lapland with Osmo. I used it when first built (2006) and only retreated last year. It's stupidly expensive, but you only need to spread very thinly, and a 5 lt can goes a long way.

Osmo sell many different products, it might help to be more specific.

If you put it on right you can just overcoat it as it behaves like an oil.

There are various products - presuming you mean UV protector as that’s for outside and will keep the colour?

I think like anything in full sun will take a battering. I have an oak door which doesn’t get direct sun which is just failing a bit on the weathering faces, I put it on too thick there so it has flaked off.

I would always now just apply with a cloth (wear disposable gloves) and wipe off ANY excess

It’s brilliant on things like oak doors internally too.

I applied it to my internal doors using a small roller, being careful to only apply thin layer.

We found Osmo useless on outdoor oak, and we have quite a lot to maintain.

Tung oil has been far superior in our experience. The finish is superior and it lasts significantly longer than Osmo.

I use Osmo on my exterior oak and it's fab stuff. I use the UV protecting stuff and it lasts ages when applied properly.

Note that this is on vertical timbers. I haven't used it on decking where there is no/limited run off. I think they do specific products for that.

Also looking for decking care. If I applied this on decking and outdoor furniture would it go grey as it has no uv control?
