Spear and Jackson S4037CR battery
Discussion
This is why I hate cordless products. Most will be useless due to the batteries long before the rest of the product has broken. If you're going to buy cordless, buy from a huge worldwide brand like Makita who use the same battery for multiple products. The volume of sales mean that aftermarket batteries would be available, even if the manufacturer stops production.
I have heard of people disassembling batteries and replacing the individual cells. These are usually generic.

What kind of motor is it?
If it's a simple brushed motor, you can just show it a suitable number of volts from any battery and it will do the job.
Or you can break open the battery and look at individual cells.
I had a Li Ion drill from a mate which was dead, but charging each cell via a resistor sorted it.
It's a classic situation of non-use over winter, one cell gets too low and the BMS cuts out.
