I'll be getting a couple more quotes, but wondered whether this seems reasonable?

Sounds reasonable, especially as they are putting in a new CU, so I assume all new wiring from the new CU to the sockets/lights.

How far is the CU from the kitchen, because running 32A cable for the cooker isn't easy.

Thanks. The unit is about 20 feet away in a cellar. I think the job is made easier as there's cellar under the kitchen too along which cables can be run.

Does the price include VAT?

Is there going to be ceiling lighting in the kitchen too?

Is that a new CU for all wiring in the house or just an add-on for the new sockets & lights?

Seems perfectly acceptable to me.

New CU is for kitchen only.
There's a ceiling pendant going in the dining part of the kitchen.
I assume include VAT but will double check.

ETA just to be clear this is new wiring for a kitchen diner

It’s not cheap, but I’ve seen worse. I pay around £3500 for a 3 bed semi to be fully rewired, thats an empty property though.
