Pressure Washer Recommendations

Hi

Had a Nilfisk for about 6 years and has now unfortunately broken. So need to replace it, will be sued for car washing and slab cleaning.

Debating going for another Nilfisk, or like the look of the Ava Easy range.

Any recommendations? Budget it around £250 max. So unfortunately get a Kranzle…

My Nilfisk is still going strong after 17 years. A few washers replaced and the main hose and that's it.

I would get another Nilfisk....

I bought an AVA last year. Robust, well build, smartly laid out and if you pay attention and diary buying the service kit, it has a mega long warranty, which if I recall is 20 years?

It’s got metal where you want metal bits and the rest seems to well made too. Very happy with it

I would go petrol every time.

Much more powerful and can drive a proper patio/slab cleaning rotating head.

My tiny Nilfisk went out with a puff of smoke when jetting the block driveway. It was nearly 15 years old.

Happily replaced with another, more powerful, Nilfisk. My father has had three Karchers in the same timeframe.

My new one (Core 150) has a metal pump….

... and plastic pressure switches. What a terrible design choice that was.

After replacing the pressure switch for the third time in 5 years, I got rid of the Nilfisk and bought a commercial/industrial grade machine instead. Unlike the domestic stuff it needs an occasional oil change in the pump, but it's built like a tank and feels like it'll last forever.

Nah, pretty much the exact same model is still available today. Mine's a C110 3-5 with a 1400W 110bar aluminium pump, and its equivalent today is the C110 7-5 again with a 1400 W 110bar aluminium pump. Price has gone up mind from £55 to £100 but that's to be expected really!

I bought a Nilfisk Core 140 last week after a lot of deliberation and I’m really happy with it. It feels like a step up in quality from the Karcher it replaced, and much more ergonomic in its design.

Brush motor though. Personally I'd always go induction motor. Still I am sure it is competent etc at the price.

After recommendations on here, I purchased a Nilfisk Core 150 - I’m really happy with the quality of it. I’m sure the novelty will wear off, but am currently having a huge amount of fun snow foaming the cars…. Note to self; must get out more!

I have a Stihl, seems well made and well thought out. Plenty of accessories for it. Definitely worth considering.

Occasionally they have an offer on and you can get the patio cleaning spinner thing for free.
