My general purpose house toolbox gave up the ghost this weekend. It's a three layer Stanley cantilever one, about 50cm long. A couple of the plastic cantis have snapped. TBH the mechanism was always going to fail, I like the plastic box as it is kinder on your shins when you bump into it than my metal ones, but opening and shutting was always pretty flaky.

Anyhoo, I now need a replacement. Any recommendations for decent brands/retailers beyond the usual suspects of Halfords/Wickes etc? A plastic cantilever box with a more substantial mechanism would be ideal.

Free broken Stanley toolbox goes to the winning suggestion;)

Make your own ……the one on the floor at the side of the new one was 30 years old and still useable
The new one will see me out. Its just bits of scrap wood.
