Can anyone advise where I might be able to get a replacement power supply for a Risco Lightsys Alarm system - it's 14.4volt 1.5amp. Risco will not speak to the public and the number of installers I have spoken to are not interested either.

It looks like a straightforward switching PSU with a fixed output voltage so you could use an adjustable supply I expect.
However, you never know what has been done with bespoke PSUs.

14.4 is an odd voltage, it suggests quick charging a 12V battery, most alarms seem to float charge lead acid batteries at 13.7 or so?

14.4V 1.5A chargers are normally for NiCad/NiMH type packs if the many many of them available for cheap are a clue.

Easy thing to get, just need to check connector size & polarity and/or chop the one off the old PSU.

Ha that will teach me to read descriptions properly i found that ebay listing but thought they were all broken so dismissed it. Those appear identical to the one I have.
Thanks I will see if I can buy them.

I have already chopped the connector off and connected up a bench psu to ensure everything else is still okay and it is.
Will just wait to see if my bid wins.

I do find it odd that the alarm industry seems to be quite closed and joe public are not allowed to order parts etc.
