Breathable paint for a Lime rendered wall

Hi everyone.

It is looking like our house will need painting at some point this year. It is a 300 year old sandstone build so I have to use breathable paint, not a modern waterproof one. It is also 3/4 covered in Lime Render.

I have just had a quick look and seen it is nearly £300 for 10 litres. I have no idea how much I will need but I would think at least 3 of these, if not more.

Can anyone recommend a more cost effective solution? It is grade 2 listed so I have to stick to the current white colour.

If I have to pay someone to do this it is going to run into £0000's that I could well do without spending....mainly as I want a new bike/car/toy asap!

Hi,

I used this company https://www.ingilby.co.uk/ for a breathable lime paint on my previous house. Their Pozilime product at £60 for 10 litres is excellent. It worked as a lime wash on my traditional lime plastered exterior walls, also providing excellent and consistent coverage on a small area of concrete render. Three coats were needed on bare lime plaster, with two coats several years later when refreshing the finish.
