Autumn is almost here and this year I would like to spend less time picking up fallen leaves.

Have about 1.5 acres to cover and a lawn tractor that can tow things.

Does anyone have a towable lawn sweeper? Are they any good? What does the £600 Agri-Fab one do that the £200 (Chinese?) ones don’t?

I have one (a husqarvana branded one which i think is a rebadge of the agrifab) - it's st. I got it second hand but still. If you lawn is perfectly flat and twig free then it'd probably work well - my lawn (an acre or so) is surrounded by trees and when they ditch their leaves lots of small twigs come down from the birches, this means the brushes jam up every 5 minutes.

I just use a lawn blower to get the leaves into piles and then pile them into the ride on trailer. Or if they're dry I go over them with the mulching deck.

Go on ebay and buy yourself a second hand Billy Goat lawn vacuum - got one last year and it works great

This is why ride on’s that collect are great. I know people like zero turn’s and kit with mulching decks but come the autumn I’m very happy to be able to collect all the leaves…the leaves go straight in the compost with the grass.

It's a compromise isn't it - I only put the collector on my Al-ko once or twice a year now and mulch the rest of the time. I'm sure the mulching would be better with a proper mulching deck rather than a plug in a collector machine. But I wouldn't want to do the collecting with my Honda Izy laugh

What are these like for capacity? I’ve got a Countax/Westwood mower with the powered sweeper brush in the grass collector and it’ll pick leaves up great but I can only do one or two passes of the garden before it’s full.
Decent leaf blower, rake and high sided trailer behind the lawn tractor has been my method.

Absolutely….every garden has different demands and we all have different preferences
