Wiring outside PIR light to existing rose

Hi.
I am thinking of adding an outside PIR light. To do so I am planning to simply connect it directly to an existing ceiling rose (L+N+E) in the loft using outdoor grade 3 core cable.
Any issues with me doing that?
(I am seeing in places that current regs need such lighting circuits to be RCD protected (mine only has MCB) and an inline fused spur for the outside light.... not sure if these rules are correct or apply to my situation of adding an outside light to an existing older installation).

There's the rules, then there's the inconvenience of your lights going out.
Also, you'll want to be able to switch it off to change the bulb or whatever?
