Repairing plastic tabs
Discussion
Hi All
So….. I was a bit heavy handed pulling apart some plastic trims on some Recaro seat inserts and snapped the tab receivers! These are no longer available, so I need to repair. They need to be fairly strong as the seat fabric is held down by the two parts locking together.
Not sure where to start! I guess I need to add material somehow, without interfering with the tab part that need to lock over. It needs to be thin enough to flex a little so the tab pushes into place.
Any help appreciated!
Thanks.

If you have the broken bits can you use something like this to repair?

If the tabs are lost can you fashion some other bits up and use the above to attach them.
Depends how much force they need to withstand

Bend a fairly chunky wire into the shape of an oversized staple and using a soldering iron press the staple in to bridge the gap - then the hooks can hook onto the wire rather than the bit of plastic that is missing?
Added bonus, make the end long enough to bend over and glue into place.
