I always like to find interesting sites for gifts that are not the usual crap for sale in high street shops.
If you know of any sites with "different" stuff, please share.

No hints, tips, or suggestions chaps???
The gift(s) are going to be for a 90 year old Mum so needs to be tasteful and quite exclusive (but not too expensive!)

Could try this.

For one of my mum's birthdays, I got her a book of newspaper front page headlines from her birthdate.

I used to be a big fan of Manufactum, but they don't seem to ship to the UK any more. Another Brexit benefit.

87% of their reviews on trustpilot are one star (from 5). I’d avoid.

That's a cool idea. Did you get one of those off Notonthehighstreet??

My Mum's 90 now. Can't remember all the sites I've used over the years for different stuff but most were abroad (mainly EU/Africa/Japan). Running out of options now though for unique stuff in UK.

Maybe not 90 year old Mum stuff but I buy these when the description or name resonates with the recipient.

I have this shop locally for oddities but they sell online too...

IIRC, I used a different site but can't remember which one.

Sorry my wording sounded linked but the website and my gift were meant to be separate suggestions.

Depending where you live and what she likes have you tried your local craft centre type places?

I tend to find they can have a lot of local truly hand made stuff rather than the chains where things can look bespoke but then they just go get one from out the back and it's all made in the far east.

Or Etsy again lots of bespoke little makers on there.

Do watch out on easy. I remember a hand made wooden bear for sale for about £20... was the same bear for £4 from BnM.

I'd take a look at etsy. They have some really nice quality blankets/throws on there. I bought a new nephew a little knitted blanket, it was great quality, and looked to be handmade/small batch. Bought wifey a big scarf/blanket thing a couple of years ago, think it was yak wool or something like? That's lasted really well, and she uses it every night in the winter months.

100% on this but I think the reviews should help there.

Always the risk you're buying mass produced tat though.
