Any advice would be welcome.

These are damp spots in the corner of an upstairs room that appears after heavy rain. the damp spots are above the level of the windows

House is 40 years old, random stone, tiled roof and the problem is recent.

An experienced roofer has been up on the roof, checked every tile and there are no cracks, checked the ridge tiles and has cleared the moss from the tiles.

One rafter in the loft shows a small amount of damp, you would struggle to call it wet. There are no tanks or pipes in the loft.

I cannot think where rain could be getting in as the pointing looks sound.

Any thoughts please?

I'd,

Look at the gutters and downpipes carefully when it's raining.

Check for any cracks or similar in the masonry that could be letting wind-driven rain in.

Horney ghost? Like them ones that cling up in the corners in a crouch waiting to pounce on someone.

40 Years old would say cavity construction, so maybe water is getting into the cavity from somewhere, hitting a wall tie, leading to the water showing up in one isolated spot, just a guess though.
