Hello,
My outside tap is has suffered frost damage and is leaking. I was having a look at Screwfix and B&Q taps but cant find a replacement.

I assumed I needed to loosen the joint circled in red but this seems stuck fast. I can't tell if its meant to come off and dont want to force it and break it.I can't see behind it.

Do I need a tap with a side entry of that's even a thing? So a tap starting from the purple rectangle I added to the 1st image.

If you can unscrew the joint to the right, a new elbow and standard tap will sort the job.

Lag your pipes and get an outside tap cover as well.

Managed to get a new tap and elbow from Screwfix. Thank you for the inputs. I will buy something to lag it tomorrow.

It's not installed perfectly upright but I can live with that.

I had something similar when I screwed in an outside tap, I used PTFE tape and fibre washers to space it out a bit so tap was vertical when screwed in, took a few goes to get it tight and perfectly straight

Or drain it down before the freezing weather, if there's a stopcock in the house.

You see the screw under the tap.
For cold weather turn the water off indoors and remove this screw. It will water out from between the check valves stripping them broom becoming damaged by ice.
Better still remove the whole tap for the winter.
