Ex-AirBnB Property
Discussion
Afternoon all - my son is looking at buying an apartment (UK) and it has just come to light that it has been (is?) an Air BnB property.
My son is looking for a home, rather than an investment. Apart from the obvious stuff (change locks, ensure it is de-listed and no future guests expected), does anyone know if there'll be any problems buying/owning it?
Thanks all

Also, houses which are rented out tend to be better maintained than a home, because the landlord won t want issues when tenants are in.
So, not a red flag in itself.
Second this. So, not a red flag in itself.
I’ve an Airbnb and it’s much better maintained and decorated than my own home! I certainly don’t want issues when paying guests are there so I’m totally on it to sort the smallest problem straight away. In comparison my own home has all sorts of stuff that I’ve never got round to sorting because as an owner you just live with it.

We bought our ex welsh place as an ex rental, that was still rented out. Because they were selling they bodged everything on the cheap in the last year rather then do things properly. Hung a picture over a damp spot, disguised a leak, didn't fix a faulty electrical socket so the house fuses if it was used...
