Need to get en suite re-done and fancying a wet room

Tried contacting a couple of local recommended plumbers but no response

Been to easy bathrooms for a look at the showroom for ideas and seen that they also do installs now

Can even get interest free credit over 2 years

Anyone gone down this route? Good/bad experience?

Thanks

Interest free credit, no such thing, you're paying for it somehow, or should that be overpaying somehow.

You might get a better response if you say where you are in the country.

Presumed easy bathrooms are national so service levels should be similar everywhere

Anyway I'm in outskirts of Leeds

From my recent experience, plumbers are not that keen on small'ish job i.e. small bathroom or ensuite. One plumber who actually came to provide a bathroom refurb quote tried to sell me a new combi boiler instead! He put more energy to flogging me the £3.5k combi boiler ( 2 days work for him) than the actual bathroom refurb!

Truth be told, My Central Heating guy does not do bathrooms anymore, now he's built up CH side, simply he said it's the cost of the Gas Safe certification for one thing, he can spread it over all customers, and previously when he was doing bathrooms many times he needed another pair of hands, also had a few landlord customers who wanted something done quick if a tenant was without heat or water which meant breaking off a bathroom fitting, to cap it all he hated tiling and getting a tiler to work to his schedule was hard.

We got a quote from them before doing ours - designer/sales guy seemed pretty clued up but suggested that we could save by arranging our own fitter and purchasing the bathroom/tiles through Easy bathrooms.

We ended up going elsewhere but the product looked and felt nice and I was impressed with the sales guys honesty.

Not sure how warrantys would be affected it's the bathroom is fitted by a 3rd party?

We've bought tiles and some fittings from them before (always in the sale ala DFS) and therefore recommended them to my mother. She took their fitting option.

The price was OTT in my view
She has to wait nigh on 3 months perhaps even 4 months
The fitter was just a local fitter who would, I presume, be on a fixed fee but hadn't actually seen the job beforehand
He did an OK job but took a few short cuts
My mum is happy.
I am not and should have been more involved.

My mum's neighbour had a very similar experience with Wickes. Another neighbour had a truly appalling service with a major chain and was, at one point, left without a bathroom including a toilet for almost a week. In all instances I'm talking about people in their 70s and 80s.

I'd be looking for a local, independent, fitter.

Given location I’m assuming this is Easy Bathrooms in the Wortley area by the ring road.

I can’t speak to the installation service as I’ve never used it, but I have used them twice for small bathrooms in the past (they recommended a fitter who I paid separately) and both experiences were really good - including them agreeing to keep some items at their warehouse for 10 days due to an delay at my side.

We have a suite being delviered from them on Wednesday of this week. Ordered in their black friday sale and got 45% off in the end. I spoke to them about fitting, it was punchy to say the least. They were more than happy though to give me the details of the fitters directly, as they are all contractors and not employed directly.

Had a quote from easy bathrooms about a month ago - wasn't happy with the price (very very high) and the payment arrangements - wanting most of the money upfront. Have subsequently had a quote from a local and he's scheduled us in next month (hopefully). All the fixtures and fittings from JT Atkinsons.

We have a downstairs cloakroom and an en-suite to refurb too, but he can't fit those in until April . . .
