Afternoon all :-)
Not sure if anybody can help with this, but I`m pulling my hair out (ok I`m ready bald haha!) with frustration with this. A neighbour of mine, who I have no wish to approach has taken it upon himself to start working on his shed of a car, a couple of months ago now, and leave it there on axle stands ever since.... He clearly has no intention of doing anything with it or about it.
It is a complete and utter eyesore, and also in my opinion dangerous for the local kids that play near it. It has no tax or MOT, the front end is on the road and the back end is blocking the pavement. I`ve tried reporting it to DVLA, 3 times, I may as well p*ss down a black hole, so I went to the local Police "oh we won`t be doing anything about this speak to the council", so that was a total waste of time. I`m now pressing the council to do something about it but can`t help feeling they will fob me off in the same way, so any ideas how I can get somebody to take notice of me?
The annoying thing is, I pay to keep my cars safe and legal, so so should everybody else. Makes me wonder why I bother though........

If you could deign to lower yourself to the level of the local peasants, of course.
Honestly take a look around you and you will appreciate this isnt an issue! Just get on with your life, people are literally going through hell, you are fortunate if an unsightly car is a big issue to you!
Also talk to him, I know you are better than him and would deemed it yet another issue but speaking to your neighbours and getting on with them is priceless, I would be able to speak to any of mine about it but then I speak to most of them and am always polite and helpful.

It's a big issue to the guy, forums like this are designed for the small irritations in life, no ? but seemingly the pathetic cliche "getting on with your life" is the main takeaway from this shortlived but racy thread. Being stoic, live and let live, don't cause waves, don't make a fuss, are the English surrender monkey traits that got us through two world wars, several Far Left administrations, millions of benefit tourists and Covid.
But remember - Today is National Walk Your Dog Day.
+ some corrupt Far Right ones..
“ If it has no tax
In the UK, untaxed vehicles on a public road are enforced by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), but they don t usually respond directly to individuals. Their reports go into a system and action can take time.
DVLA enforcement is often slow but they do clamp/remove eventually if confirmed untaxed
1. Go to GOV.UK
2. Search: Report an untaxed vehicle
3. Use the official DVLA service
4. Enter:
Vehicle registration number
Make & model
Location (road name, town, postcode)
How long it s been there
You don t need to give your name reports can be anonymous
Will be slow, but will work in the end ..
