Is there a market for second hand bunded plastic oil tanks? I've got one in the garden that has been used for a garden irrigation system, so has been full of water for who knows how long. It's pretty large, probably 2000 litres at a guess, and looks in pretty good nick overall. Trying to work out what to do with it - if someone would be interested in carting in away, or if I'm going to have to get busy with the sawzall and chop it into wheelie-bin size bits to get rid of over the next 10 years...

Have done some online digging but can't really work out if these things actually sell or not, in practice.

Definitely - yes.

The issue is the buyer getting it home so they need to have / borrow a trailer.

I'd read about a firm that has set up to buy and resell tanks as there are a lot of newish tanks about now owing to heat pump installs.

I ended up giving mine away. Had it on market place for months for £100 with 0.25 tank of oil, and even then no takers. Eventually someone had it for free.

I was happy just to get shot of the thing for free in the end!

Thanks all - to respond to query on location, we are in Harpenden. So the Hemel option is a good one. Not in a rush to get rid, I’ll probably empty it over a hopefully hot summer watering the garden. But if i can find someone who wants it, will get rid.

There are plenty of un-bunded ones for cheap on Facebook.
Bunded should be useful to someone if it's in good nick.
New ones are not cheap.
