Block paving with curves and bigger gaps

Hi all
My house has an oval lawn which is bordered with block paving. The arc causes the blocks to have wider gaps than areas where they are butted up face to face.
These larger gaps annually require digging out the weeds, jet washing and resanding and it's becoming a chore.

I've seen these resin based sand solutions which are much more expensive, but seem to be aimed at weed control.
Anyone used anything like this in a situation like mine?
Recommend it?

I used GftK vdw850+ on my patio when it was laid over ten years ago.
It's a two part system (you mix in the resin supplied) meant for larger gaps, such as around cobbles and is rated for vehicular traffic.
I used it in the pencil wide gaps between sawn stone and struck out the surface with a bricklayers iron to compact it. It wasn't easy but it really has lasted. To look at it now, you might think it had been laid last year, not a decade ago.

Edit: Reflecting on your photos, the narrowing of the gaps probably preclude it's use, the gaps would make it hard work if at all possible. If the pavers were relaid with wider gaps it would certainly be an option.

to be effective those weeds and sand are going to have to be removed you will need to do the entire block paving otherwise its going to look a mess

that's going to be messy , you will need a high powered jet wash to blow out the earth . hopefully the blocks were installed on a good hardcore base /sand with a weed membrane ? .

once all the sand is removed apply a hypochlorite solution ( buy from swimming pool vendors 20litres) to all the blocks and between the blocks

using a sprayer .let it soak in , then power wash out

once clean

you can use a resin based projoint titan to a depth of at least 25mm



like anything its all in the prep , the cleaner the tiles the cleaner the joints will give better longevity and results its going to be expensive depending on the size of the paving you will need several of those tubs at £67 each , you will need more than you think

the other cheaper option is to clean and remove the blocks as above , re sand and apply two coats of water based sealer , you will get around 3 years weed free if you keep on top of it , then you will be weed free

both methods work on the principle of covering the joints with an impermeable barrier , the only issue i see with yours is whether you can get resin to bond between those joints on block paving they are very narrow , where its ideal for paving slabs i think you might struggle .



neighbours driveway i resanded and sealed 3 years ago its still weed free that took a whole day in prep to remove all the weeds sand etc

Would a 'cheat' solution not be to leave it as it is but to spray it with a weedkiller solution once or twice a year?
