I did post this in computers but maybe someone here would have an idea.
I bought a second hand hikvision camera off eBay and now I can't get into it even though I've reset it. The default password etc doesn't work on this. Any ideas please ?

How are you connecting to it? Supplying it with poe etc etc? I
Presume you know it's IP address?

Via Poe. I can connect to it but on the login page admin 12345 doesn't work after resetting it.

I didn’t think those passwords had worked for years. Can you see it from the SADP tool?

Can see it on sadp yes. Is there any way of using this or do I need a password of some sort?

I’m sure there are people more up to date than me, as I haven’t needed to do this for years. Last one, I extracted the XML file and emailed it to Hikvision and they sent me a file back.

Trying to add it on the NVR. The old NVR worked fine with it. How can I find out what the password is for this camera (this is not the camera I had off eBay). This is highly annoying!

Is that camera connected directly to the NVR?

Yes directly in NVR but I've also put it direct into the Poe switch and tried to access via laptop

Cameras attached to an NVR usually have same credentials as the NVR.

It doesn't seem to work by using the plug and play. Would the password be the NVR password?
