Hi,

How many of you have seperate storage facilities?
I've rented a lock up for several years but it has now been sold and im having to find alternative arrangements,

Lock up garage was £50PCM

No lock ups available anywhere near for rent.

Shipping container £130 PCM

Quite the hike but will have to suck it up for at least the short term.

What have you got and what do you pay?!

Can't help on alternatives but work used to store stuff in shipping containers and they suffered from really bad internal condensation.

We have just given up a storage container and it was £120 pcm. It was insulated so we didn’t have any issues with damp over the year we had it.

The self-storage buildings in towns can be quite flexible - have used them on occasion during house sales/moves. Usually a range of different locker/room sizes available and short/long-term contracts.

£120+pcm for shipping containers seems punchy. Bought one for site use last year and, fully repainted and delivered, it was about £2k.

Have a look on Gumtree and Marketplace for garages/lockups. I rent out a few, the going rate for a single garage is £100 ish now, I’ve got some large doubles that get £300 easily. They occasionally come up for £60 ish
