I'm looking for recommendations for a decent quality strimmer head which will feed 4mm or thicker line and not keep falling apart - if you can recommend an autofeed one which will hold 7m or more of line too I'd be eternally grateful. 8mm Left hand thread fitting

If I can't find a decent one I'm going to have to revert to the fixed blade which is scary.......

Tx.

4mm string is very thick! and 7 meters very long too. I do an awful lot of strimming, 3mm being the thickest string, and probably 3-4m at a time maximum. I'm not sure what you are asking for exists. What are you cutting?

Agreed, any reason not to use a PolyCut/BrushCut head or equivalent?

In the long standing PH tradition of recommending something you haven’t asked for, have a look at Oregon’s Jet Fit heads, not auto feed bit very simple to reload. Death to brambles!

Think I'm going to give this one a go. FYI I'm strimming weeds here in Spain that vary from tiny things that run at the sight of a strimmer to horrible great big woody stemmed things that rapidly reach 1m high within three days of it raining that up till now I've had to use loppers to cut them at the base!

The 3.8/4mm heads I had in France would take on anything that got thrown at them but they are really struggling against my new nemesis here in Spain.

Will report back!

What model/type strimmer is it for?

I had a Kawasaki petrol strimmer and two heads - nylon and 'the death star', a tri-bladed metal head that was great for heavy brambles.

It's a 70cc two stroke, powerful and reliable and still always easy to start despite years of abuse. I don't like using the blade attachment but will do if absolutely necessary. New head as recommended arrives tomorrow so we can see how that gets on.

I wear a chainsaw helmet with a mesh screen with clear eye shields under that - having had a foreign body in my eye many years ago it is most definitely something I do not wish to repeat.
