Too late for fruit trees?

I'm thinking of planting a plum tree and maybe two apple trees.
Several sources advise planting November to early March - I'm only a couple of weeks over, will it make any difference or am I doomed to failure?

They'll work, don't expect them to do much and they'll need the usual support to get established.

Does depend a bit if they're bare root or not.
