I wish to purchase the below pergola but don't want the middle leg as it won't work were we plan to have it. What braces or extra support can I put in to continue to let it stand straight?
I was thinking about those glass cannopies they have over door ways sometimes those have metal wires to help take the weight.

Or using larger supports on the side. Not ideal

Nothing. It will sag. Your only hope is still wire to a point 4 or so feet above the rear column on a brick wall if you happen to have one in your chosen location.

They designed it like that. Wood is heavy.

Bolt a bigger timber post to the corner post that is 2 metres higher than the roof line and use catenary wires down to where ever you think needs holding up with eye bolts.
