Removal of old sleepers / resin

Any tips on removing rotten sleepers, and replacing with new ones?

Also removal of resin? Will a pick axe break it up or will I need specialist kit?

Garden needs doing and having difficulty finding someone who 'wants' to do it! Plan is to remove all sleepers bar the replacement of a few in corner to keep privacy. Remove resin, and shed and level off slope.

Turf and pave ourselves (which is the bit I think is putting people off!)
