Existing bedroom with floating floor is going to have a new en suite built in it. Age of the house I reckon when I look I'll find;

Chipboard Floor
50mm polystyrene insulation
Black plastic DPM 1200 gauge
Block and Beam sub-floor

A nice easy (ha!) and much better job for a tiled floor in my mind would be to rip out the chipboard floor and polystyrene insulation and lay a thick (60mm ish) XPL type tile backer board and lay tiles directly on top of those.

But how will they attach to the subfloor when there's a DPM layer on top of the block and beam? Screw through with backer board fixings?Some sort of adhesive?

In my mind I'd like the make up as;

Tiled finished floor
Electric underfloor heating laid in self level screed
60mm XPL type backer board
DPM
Block and Beam sub-floor.

Anyone tackled something similar?
