internet router issue

Of late we are getting home internet issues
the ADSL light is stable
but the internet light is showing orange intermittently
REported to the Service provider a few times
they changed the router
and the cable from the pole to the house,
same issue appears now and then, of late they report no issue on Network
and they suspect an electrical issue (I struggle with this ) and thnk they are passing the buck back to me,
I was considering a new router bought from one of the Tech stores to get away from the supplied one.
Anyone had similar isues?
I have tried the router plugged into different home sockets.
and oddly when we ran on a generator for 8 hours the line never dropped out
so could it be a home cabling(electrical) issue?

Yes it could be electrical noise. I take it you don’t have fibre available?
Unless your isp is zen, chances are the isp supplied router won’t expose the underlying dsl information. Still, next time it is down login to the router and see if gives any clues. I take it your phone keeps working?

The router is ZTE Corporation.
I was considering just going and buying an aftermarket one.
We did have electrical supply voltage issues last year but now have a regulator
which maintains the voltage. I have moved the router to an alternate socket (power) away from the actual internet cable that plugs into the wall socket, so far it appears to be stable.
The dropwire from the pole does run along the same path as the solar syetem cables although they are seperated with conduit for the entire run.

That all looks ok other than it isn t syncing close the maximum attainable speeds. It may have been capped due to previous drops when pushing it. Probably need to see what it says when the orange light is on.
Are you streaming over WiFi? It may be the vdsl connection is ok but there are wifi issues.

streaming over wifi only the security camera is plugged in directly.
It has been stable since my last post after I plugged it into its own power socket with no other devices(previously was on a 2 gang extension lead).
watched a film on Prime without issues over the wifi too fingers crossed it stays up, thank you again.

There was a period, prior to the internet being a thing, that BT as they were then did experiment with Aluminium in place of the much more expensive Copper for phone lines. The call quality wasn't adversely affected but for internet it's awful and even only a few metres can wreak havoc on your broadband signal. OP, can you have a look here: https://bidb.uk/ and pop in your postcode and house number and see what shows up?

The cable from the poly coming under the road is copper poly sheathed and in conduit where it runs near the solar cables/.
cable under the road is the correct 20pr underground cable with the waterproof grease/lube inside.
Videos are being watched at 720 on YT
the internet service is meant to be upto 50Mb normal speeds are mid 20-30s.
There is Fibre appearing not to far from our house but not near enough as yet to get connected.
I could opt for mobile internet with a dongle but have chosen wired for now.
(no starlink available here)

Have you tried a new ADSL filter ? you need a filter on every phone socket that has a device plugged into it

if you have a dodgy filter or a device fitted without one you may find that device will cause your broadband to drop and re-synch when you use it
