i'm in need of a good quality sofa bed for our lounge, we have my mum stay once every 2 or 3 months to look after the kids so we can go out and we can't justify a loft extension just for her to stay in so we're looking at a comfy sofa bed for her to get her head down on.

Has anyone bought one in the last year and would recommend the brand they used? I'd like to be as comfy as it can be for her so i'm hoping by buying something for 1.5-2k should give us something that's both stylish and comfy to sit on but also a nice bed for her to sleep on.

Anyone able to share any companies? Happy to go national or if anyone is in Yorkshire and knows any places we're happy to go look before we buy.

Thanks

We bought this,

Used occasionally and with the mattress upgrade is surprisingly comfortable and also comfy to sit on when in normal mode. Well made and simple and quick to pull out.

Bit pricey but we’ve had it for a few years now and it’s still in as new condition.

We literally got one this morning from furniture village, to bring up the low end. Was £750.

We've got an Alstons Reuben from a local independent furniture place. Endless choice of fabric options and we went for the deluxe memory foam option. Feedback from our visitors is that it's very comfortable. Mechanism feels solid but smooth when unfolding and then very stable once out. Before sale discount I think it should have been £1500 to £1600.

We have an Alstons too. Went for the pocket sprung mattress, great for one person, not for two as it dips in the middle (and it's very very rarely used as a sofa).

We have a Cocoon one that's quite comfortable as both sofa and bed.

Apologies for the slight thread hijack....

How many parts does this one come in when it's delivered?

We're heading to FV tomorrow to check these out. We plan to put it in a room with quite difficult access. If it's in several parts we'll be able to get it in.

Thanks. thumbup

It was 4 main parts, the chaise was one, then the two seats with sofabed pullout, and then the two arms. Seemed pretty reasonable to get it in when the chaps delivered it, and was put together in 30 minutes.
