Has anyone any experience of battery operated electric blinds - any recommendations for supply and fit London area? They look a lot simpler than trying to wire into the mains.

I’m thinking of something like - https://shadeandstory.co.uk/bella-modesty-electric...

Thanks!

We have battery powered blinds in the living room and for the bedroom gable. They have a solar charger hidden from view, they have only being in for about 12 months no issues so far, but long term I have no idea how long battery will hold out.

We have a pair of battery Roman blinds in the high windows on our stairwell, batteries tend to last around 3 months on a charge but they are quite long and heavy blinds.

I have 6 battery powered roller blinds in my living room, they work off a Somfy controller. Despite daily use I only need to charge them about once every 6 months.

I have ones you can plug in and charge. They need charging once every 6 months - they’re in bedrooms so sometimes don’t go up and down in a day but are used fairly frequently.

One is a 3.8m span, still doesn’t seem to need charging all that often! You can also replace the motor / drive / battery unit.

So yes, would recommend
