Is this Ring stuff good? (Floodlight cameras)

Has anyone got the Ring stuff specifically floodlight cameras who could recommend it? I’m needing new outside lights, would like a few cameras, and need it all to be easy to fit, work etc and the Ring stuff looks promising…

I have a couple, they are ok but I have nothing to compare it to, the subscription is horrific for what it is, I suppose the basic package is ok. you can turn the light on all the time if you're having a bbq for example.

If i wanted lighting I'd fit some proper lights they are a bit harsh and not always as responsive as you'd like.

I switched from Ring to Reolink because of the ridiculous subscription.

No subscription. Limited cloud storage. Big memory card for actual storage if you really need it.

I have 4 at my place. I would say that they are decent for the money. I have the subscription but I don't think it's required. They are ready to install. As for reliability, I bought them 7 years ago and 2 of them have recently failed and needed replacing.

I have three, a mains wired one with spotlights for the front of the house, a battery powered one for the garage/drive and one to keep an eye on our cats in their sleeping room at night.
They are about 5 years old now and I've never had a problem with any of them, okay you can buy cheaper but I have to say the quality is there. I bought a spare battery so as I've always got one charged.

We have two, one over the drive, one over the garage. Both have been repositioned after a renovation and are the first gen versions.

They could do with being better resolution over distance if I'm honest, as we don't always get the details of couriers at the gate, but we can see well enough for the moment.

We've got a few, one of each flavour more or less for different locations, all hardwired. Bought on Prime day or similar at 50% off they're not bad for the money.

Once you're into multiple devices the 'site' subscription isn't that much extra, and for me it's worth not faffing with my own storage infrastructure.

The app is idiot proof too, I can imagine some of the others being less user friendly but have no first hand experience.

We have various Ring camera's and the outdoor floodlight camera. Is totally fine for what we need it for. The lens fell off the camera the other day, spoke to Ring and they sent out a whole new unit, wasnt in warranty or anything.

I've got a mix of Ring and Arlo cameras. The Arlo cameras pick up more than the Ring ones for some reason. I find the Arlo app and viewing recordings much more user friendly compared with Ring

Thanks for replies. WRT to the floodlight I think I might be better off buying separate floodlights and individual cameras. I also didn’t realise about the subscription. There’s so much kit and choice on the internet that it’s a minefield, and finding someone who is a specialist in all this (without trying to make maximum £) is not easy.
