Wales and West Utilities have closed off the road to install a new Gas Main.
My WB Green Star Boiler threw a 227 Code yesterday which signifies insufficient gas pressure.
Talking to the guys this morning they said that they were not surprised as my home supply pipe (which was replaced 5 years ago) was partially disconnected from the main and leaking. Due to corrosion of the Main.
They expect to find several others like it as they progress.
They also mentioned that low pressure was a worsening problem in my Town and that this would only get worse with all the new house building developments that have been proposed.

No gas supply in new builds.
My mate Ed (as in fik in the) swears by these new fangled air source heat pumps.
Everyone knows he's wrong, which is why a load of my mates are re-training as Gas fitters so they can cash in on the inevitable U turn when everyone needs to have a gas supply running into their freezing cold new house.

I would contact W&WU customer service. If the supply to your house was leaking enough to that it caused the boiler to throw a code, you'd have smelt it by now and you would have had codes before now. My suspicion (having run these contracts in the past) is their work has caused the boiler code. It may be what they have done is above board, but trying to pass it off as a problem before they arrived doesn't pass the sniff test to me.My WB Green Star Boiler threw a 227 Code yesterday which signifies insufficient gas pressure.

Certainly no previous codes.
The same day someone from WWU called to reset my Boiler and purge the system.
I spoke to one of their employees in the road. He advised that I would need to call WWU to rearrange the appt. He also said that he and his colleagues couldn't do it because they are only 'Gas Safe' for works outside the property.
Someone came today and all working again.

That is the normal process for these works. The same day someone from WWU called to reset my Boiler and purge the system.
