Let s talk cheap electric deals ..
Discussion
Currently with Eon, getting 7hours overnight for 3.19p per kWh and the rest of the day at 25p. Standing charge is about 48p per day.
After a lot of streamlining of power usage we currently use about 7500 kWh a year but this will go up as looking at getting a new EV so possibly 11,000 kWh.
New deals I’m looking at are all over the place but everything gone up massively (not surprising given the current mess the world is in).
Thought it may be useful to have a thread where people can post the best deals they are getting to make it easier for others.
I’m really interested in good split tariffs with day and night rates….

It's a useless ask as charges are regional. You need to compare with people locally. After a lot of streamlining of power usage we currently use about 7500 kWh a year but this will go up as looking at getting a new EV so possibly 11,000 kWh.

Thanks HalfGlassEmpty.

very much the case as I am NorthWales/Merseyside and have the highest standing charges.
Regional daily standing charges vary significantly across Great Britain.
Specific regional estimates include:
North Wales and Mersey: ~70.78p per day
Yorkshire: ~64.40p per day
Northern: ~64.30p per day
Southern Scotland: ~64.20p per day
Midlands: ~59.72p per day
South Western: ~57.90p per day
South Wales: ~57.86p per day
Northern Scotland: ~57.57p per day
South East: ~54.45p per day
Eastern: ~53.95p per day
East Midlands: ~53.61p per day
Southern: ~49.70p per day
North West: ~47.63p per day
London: ~44.83p per day
I've just gone through a renewal with Octopus (changes on 30th June)
12 month fix was:
3.49p/kWh (23:30 to 05:30)
25.56p/kWh (05:30 to 23:30)
47.34p Standing Charge
New fix:
8p/kWh (23:30 to 05:30)
33.75p/kWh (05:30 to 23:30)
46.63p Standing Charge
Quite an increase, but I save a whole £2.59 per year on the standing charge.
Had a quick look at other EV tariffs but nothing jumped out as cheaper.

I've got Solar, Batteries and EV.
I was on Octopus Intelligent Go and moved in April to EDF Smart Tariff and Export. I changed as Octopus Export dropped to 12p and I knew the short lived drop to Import would go up in July (It actually went up in April FFS)
So now I get an extra hour off peak (11pm to 6am at 6.99p/kWh) compared to IOG and no 6hr limit to EV charging.
Peak is 29.55p
Standing is 47.98p
Export is 15p (that 3p difference is about £30 odd a month atm)
