Replacing Pendants with Semi-Flush LED lights
Discussion
Hello folks,
Quick question. I have ordered 2x Semi-Flush LED ceiling lights to replace 2x pendants in the living room.
Both pendants are operated by a single switch.
What would the wiring be like? Am I correct in assuming that it would be a switched Live i.e. Neutral wire coming from the switch and all live wires in the loop?
I am assuming I would need some connectors like Wago ones to join the wires together?
Toolstation/Screwfix seem to be selling Wago and some other brand called Ideal - anyone used the Ideal ones before or should I just stick to Wago?
Also, is there anywhere I can get Wago connectors loose? I dont want to buy a 10/12/multipack as I rarely do any electrical DIY and very likely to get lost in the garage.
Thanks.

Most UK houses be be wired in what’s called loop in and will have a
permanent live in, out and one going down to the switch (3)
neutral in and out (2)
switch wire coming back up from the switch (1)
Earth/CPC, in, out and down to the switch (3)
The last point on a circuit will have less, as there is no ‘out’ conductor
Your should connect between the switch wire and any neutral, plus an earth if the luminaire isn’t double insulated.
Stick to Wago, lots of EBay sellers sell them in small quantities.
A neutral at the switch is still pretty rare
