Stain protection for a rug - DIY or professional?
Discussion
We've just got a new wool rug for our entrance hall and I'm thinking of adding a stain protector.
It's not in a high traffic area (as we generally come in via the side door, plus shoes off) but I figure why not, given it's a fairly light colour.
My question is, should I just do the stain protection myself, with a couple of cans of Scotchguard from Amazon, or get a professional in to apply whatever it is they use? Or is it all a scam and I should just forget stain protection and simply clean the rug as and when it gets dirty?
