I have lots of Lavender plants in my garden and they are normally alive with bees now.

Not a one did I spot today. Is it too hot for them do you think?

I think so. They're chilling out.

I've seen loads in recent weeks but only one the last few days. It must be the heat.

we have 7 hives at the end of our drive,

thousands of the grumpy buggers around here, they dont like it this hot, and there is a bumper nectar bloom at the moment so they are busy,

And hives generate heat too I think, which can't help... maybe add some aircon? nuts

Do you have any water out?

On hot days I get a lot of bees visiting mine, I assume they’re getting a drink as no other water sources on dry days

They're in between the walls of my shed, must be a nest in there.

Loads of water.

Haven't seen many dragonflies and similar stuff either.

Got loads in our meadow probably a record year, and they love clover in the lawn, not very PH to have a ‘weedy’ lawn but the pollinators love it.

Leafcutter bees are nesting in my solitary bee nest box. Here's one taking in a piece of leaf it has cut out..

The nesting chambers are filling up

I'm not sure if it's the hot weather or the lack of bees, but my runner beans are flowering, but not settling.

I've been watering well and spraying the flowers, but nothing.

Someone on the radio said their grapevines were getting lots of fruit because of the hot dry weather, and rain reduced success... but maybe grapes are different from beans.

YAY!

Bees. Loads of 'em.

Here's one.

It's about 12 degrees cooler here today.

The bees have the right idea, take it easy when it's that hot.

We've had/got lots in our garden, hoverflies and dragonflies as well. Obviously I have a huge flower bed now to attract them, but never seen so many here before, especially the hoverflies.
