I would absolutely bin the gas fire pit in the table.
You lose so much table space. If you have any sort of large gathering with plenty of meats salads, breads, plates, bowls, glasses, it's very frustrating not having any space
Agreed. They give off no heat to keep you warm, and use a shed load of gas and you won’t use it. Save the money. You lose so much table space. If you have any sort of large gathering with plenty of meats salads, breads, plates, bowls, glasses, it's very frustrating not having any space

Cheers chaps for the above and notes
BBQ and pizza oven are in a different location along with dinning table.
Ice machine is a good idea. Are gas s fire pits really that naff ?
I used to work at garden furniture company, gas fire pits were definitely on the way out. But if you like them and like the effect there’s nothing inherently wrong with them, I just find they get little use and they certainly don’t keep you warm in the late nights. BBQ and pizza oven are in a different location along with dinning table.

I've used Excel to knock up quick plans for a room etc and one thing that might be useful is setting both column and rows to the same size. make each box on Excel equivalent to a certain size (e.g. 25cmx25cm) and you'll be able to put in a vaguely accurate scaled design. Which will then show you if that table actually gives you the space around it you expect, etc?

Was planning on decent plug in string lights plus a fan with light on the ceiling
I've found string lights a little bit hit and miss.I took them down in the end and went for a couple of these. Two do do enough for a table of 6. Nice and diffuse.
When they're not outside they light up various shelves and alcoves inside.
This sort of light is commonly seen in bars and restaurants (where I got the idea). Now I've got 2 of the Pookys in the link below plus one that looks more like a table light. Plus a couple of cheapo Chineseum copies. The Pookys are way better - far better battery life, better quality light, better dimming.
