I had a large sectional garage door fitted just under 5 years ago. It's Galvanised Sandwich panels with a Jet black paint finish externally.

The folded edge of each panel is starting to bubble but oddly only on the top 2 section/panels, which are actually slightly better protected from weather due to the overhang of the opening.

I have contacted the manufacturer who has a 10 year guarantee.

Their response is two things.

1. The warranty covers only the functionality of the door
2. It does not include the paint finish.

In addition to this they also state this is "damage caused through external environmental influences" which I have asked them to clarify what they mean by this, could be anything.

The door gets a wash down with water periodically through the year with general maintenance of facias etc, with it being black it's constant to keep it looking it's best. It's not neglected in anyway.

The product is sold as being "expertly engineered to offer durability...." don't think it is. I've pushed back but feel this may be a battle.

Anyone else had something similar ?

No further forward on this with a constant dismissal from the manufacturer.

After a bit of googling others are suffering the same and have had success through the small claims court process. Looks like that’s the next stop.
