Question about UPVC window pivot please
Any one have any experience of this please
My elderly mother has a window and mentioned it broken one side. No problem to not use for now, have managed to set it back to the closed position ( she mentioned she caught her hand in trying to close, you have to lift up on the broken side a little so best to not use for now)
It is evident there is a perishable plastic part here where its broken away so that when the window is lifting, its not able to either keep that sort of extended rivet on the same plane or in position now that the plastic has disintegrated.
"Window slider" is perhaps my guess at the part name.
Quick search is finding a lot of windows but then I stumbled on "https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286870353778"
"Cotswold Sinidex Replacement Upvc Window Friction Hinges 8"-24" Top & Side Hung" so guess that would be relevant.
It looks like it may be a replaceable item? But the window may need to be loosed before this is possible -
imagine this is necessary to be removed from outside with a ladder
(2 person, one supporting the window from the outside and the other unscrewing from inside top and bottom? )
I'd also be tempted to suggest maybe as the person who is up a ladders priority is safety on the ladder could be useful to secure the window from above and lash it up so if it is getting disconnected if they need to focus their safety and balance on being on the ladder it ain't getting dropped.
